This is my Stallion, He will be 2 in June... He's 25% Appaloosa & 75% AQHA. Not sure what he'll do with color on his Babies but I do plan on Breeding back to Appaloosa mares, so hopefully the color will stay..I bought him in Sept. 06. I live in Missouri & theres not many people here that are interested in the Appaloosa, matter of fact all you here are bad things about them!

Nice Animal!
I have known of quite a few Appaloosas and can only think of one of them that was "bad". More than likely it was the owner who was the problem! At any rate I believe a lot of breeds get a bad reputation and its really ill deserved.

Thanks & I do agree on that one! I took riding lessons on a leopard Appaloosa mare, & that's where my love for them came from.... This colt is so nice & quite, never has a problem with anything I do to him, even the clippers... It's kinda like he knows what he was put here for! Not sure if I will show him or not I know it helps when they are stallions but it seems they know whos going to win before you go in the ring... But being as hes turning 2 in June this year, I will be standing him in 09'... When I bought this colt I had no idea where he came from as far as his Dad I knew his mom was DOC BAR bred but other then that... I told my brother in law I wouldn't give him what he was wanting unless he got his papers.... So it wasn't 2 weeks after I got him home & I had all of his stuff to get that done & got to digging around, & really got a big suprise! on his 3rd gen. he has Hollywood Jac 86 & Sugars Oak Bar. On his 4th-Easter King,Sugar Bells,Bogie Woogie(ApHC),Doc's Oak, Doc O'lena,& Whoa Jack. & he is the first real colored foal out of his dad. The rest just had a few spots across their hips. Most were duns too.I have yet to see his dad but I'm going too..Well better get going, have to get some stuff done before the rain gets here...
A rainbow of colour...
Hi there
This is my first post on this site and I just wanted to say, nice looking colt. We bred Appaloosas for a number of years and I happen to love that particular breed. We have found them to be very user friendly, intelligent and relatively easy to train with a "want to" attitude.
My six year old gelding "Blackjack" and I are going to Colorado in April to become JL certified and Josh once told me ( joking, I know ) that an appaloosa was a QH that couldn't make up its mind what colour it wanted to be.
I will have to prove to him that this Appy is outstanding and will excel at his program.
Enjoy the beauty that is Appaloosa and I wish you all the best with your breeding program.
Welcome to the Site
Welcome to the site! I hope you find it useful and as always feel free to drop me a line if you have suggestions or ideas of how to make it better.
I am glad to see that we have a few Appaloosa people here, hopefully you all can share information about the breed here and help dispel some of the myths about them!
