Woods Quarter Horses

Welcome to Woods Quarter Horses! We are a small farm located in South-Central Kentucky dedicated to preserving and promoting the Foundation bloodlines of the American Quarter Horse. �Foundation� is synonymous with disposition, conformation, and ability in a Quarter Horse. Today�s �specialized� horses are longer in the leg and leaner in their build, versatility is not an option. Woods Quarter Horses strives to �breed the quarter horse back into the quarter horse�.

Once was the time that a Quarter Horse was the family horse. He worked during the week on the ranch, played on Saturdays at shows, and finally was the family baby-sitter on Sunday afternoons. Versatility was his greatest asset. The �original� quarter horses had the build of a �bulldog�, standing between 14 � 15 hands tall with a muscular build giving them the quickness to catch the wildest of cows and the strength to hold it at the other end of a rope.
